Sheriff Mark Anderson addressed policy questions raised by board members and said the department adheres to statewide limits on law enforcement activity: "they don't work with ICE, VT law does not get involved with civil immigration enforcement, unfunded, no resources."
Rebecca "Bex" Slattery moved to accept the Windham County Sheriff's Office contract and authorize the Town Manager to execute it; Aileen Tulloch seconded and the motion passed. The contract and its designee provisions were discussed with an eye toward clarifying emergency contact and reporting procedures to ensure town ordinances are kept current and provided to the Sheriff for enforcement consideration.
