Kiowa schedules April clean-up, April garage sale and plans combined July 4 festival

The Kiowa Town Council approved community event dates at its March 26 meeting. Council members voted to schedule Kiowa Clean-Up days for Friday and Saturday, April 17–18, and approved a townwide Community Garage Sale for April 25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Council discussed combining the Kiowa Festival and Independence Day celebrations on July 4, with a parade beginning at 10 a.m. and activities continuing through 10 p.m. L. Goss agreed to arrange hot dogs and chili; J. Wilson said he would handle a corn hole tournament and the council discussed inviting churches to provide music and hosting food and drink vendors. No formal vote was recorded on the festival consolidation.
