Kiowa approves financial and purchases reports; sales tax below projection, use tax higher

The council approved the Financial and Purchases reports after Tracy Reed of RSMeacham CPA & Associates said sales tax in the General Fund was somewhat lower than projected while use tax and overall revenues were higher than expected.
Tracy Reed of RSMeacham CPA & Associates presented the Financial Report and the Purchases Report at the Jan. 29 meeting. Reed told the council that General Fund sales tax collections were somewhat below projections but that use tax and total revenues were higher than anticipated; the council voted to approve both reports.
The Purchases Report was similarly reviewed and approved. The minutes record motions carried (roll-call-style entries list M. Sexton-yes, J. Ray-present, T.S. Barker-absent, T. Horn-yes and D. Drake-yes) but do not include dollar-by-dollar line items in the minutes text provided.
