At the Jan. 29 meeting the council approved seven individuals as trained volunteers of the Kiowa Fire Department: Branton Nicols, Walker Wilson, Ralin Dean, Johnathan Mueller, Chance Stephens, Gabe Witthoph and Jamie Kelley. The minutes record the motion carried on a vote entry.
The minutes also note a $500 donation from Pate McIntyre to benefit the fire department. Separately, the council voted to donate a Maintenance Department vehicle to the Fire Department, authorizing transmission repair, a rear differential seal and other necessary repairs prior to transfer. During public discussion the council asked the Fire Department to obtain pricing for a skid steer for its brush truck.
