The Town of Kiowa voted at its Jan. 29 regular meeting to adopt a Purple Heart City designation after a presentation by J. Hasty on requirements and commemorative items. The council approved the measure by motion; the minutes record the motion as carried.
J. Hasty said the Purple Heart Association will provide a plaque suitable for hanging in City Hall at no cost to the town, while placement of signs on Highway 69 will follow ODOT guidelines; the town would be responsible for producing and installing those signs.
