Chair urges Universal Service Fund reforms and says AI can help defend networks

The chair said he is participating in a bipartisan, bicameral Universal Service Fund working group and that reforms are needed to ensure the fund is sustainable for future generations. He called USF an important tool for achieving universal connectivity and said he hopes the subcommittee can reach agreement on reforms soon.

"I'm a proud member of the bipartisan bicameral universal service fund working group, and I'm continuing to work with this group on reforms to ensure the USF is sustainable for future generations," the chair said. He also argued that artificial intelligence can be used to defend networks, saying, “At a time when threats to our network are an all time high, AI is a crucial tool to fight fire with fire and ensure 1 of our most critical systems is protected.”
