After discussion about park drainage, funding sources (1¢ surtax and a $100,000 restricted donation), and the option to seek additional philanthropic support, council approved option 4 (Triple Tower) and contingency by roll call, 4–1.
Council also confirmed a teal/green standard color scheme and green turf selection to maximize kid engagement and fit a coastal palette.
What’s next: Staff will finalize vendor contracts, schedule demolition and installation, and implement drainage/turf work as part of the construction sequence; staff will also explore philanthropic requests to offset costs.
