Lake Geneva restoration nears completion in multiple zones; contractor may chip in to grind trees

Jamie Booth summarized work across five major areas: Area 1 (by the 5th Street boat ramp) and Area 3 (between Breeze Point and Nelson Point) are effectively complete and awaiting burn permits; Area 2 (Baker Road, south side) had major trees removed and the contractor indicated they might grind the material at their own cost; Area 4 also awaits burning of piled material; Area 5 (about three acres) likely cannot be cleared by the contractor because terrain and 15–20-foot cut slopes prevent safe access.
Booth said staff will forward a formal assessment from the consultant and will notify council when burning permits are issued by the Florida Forestry Service. The council and staff also noted related drainage and stormwater outfall work being performed concurrently as crews clear decades of overgrowth.
