Two sealed paving bids for the Summer 2026 projects on Beaver Pond and the South Street extension were opened and read to the Selectboard. The low bid was from Pike at $409,142.20; Wilk submitted a higher bid at $474,539.85. Town Manager Judy Frazier told the board both bids exceed the funds currently budgeted for the projects and that she and the DPW foreman will review the submissions and present funding options at the next Selectboard meeting.
Board members did not take a formal vote to award the contract at this meeting. The Selectboard packet and meeting minutes list the bid amounts as read publicly; the board directed staff to return with budget and funding recommendations rather than authorizing work immediately.
