Renee Norlock of Norlock and Associates told the council the firm conducted a national search and compiled a packet of resumes and summary materials that had been provided to council members. "We did a national search... we have a candidate pool of about 15 candidates," Norlock said, and noted the packet included resume summaries and detailed resumes to help the council assess applicants.
Norlock described the booklet's structure (recommended candidates followed by resume summaries and full resumes) and said recommended names were not ranked but listed alphabetically. She also described her approach to preliminary interviews and the criteria used to assess management experience, leadership style and commitment to local government service.
The consultant recommended a mix of internal and external candidates be considered and offered to provide suggested interview questions and assist with logistics for next week's one-on-one and public sessions.
