The Finance Committee voted unanimously to send a request to the full Newark City Council to appropriate $55,042.86 in forfeiture funds into the law-enforcement drug-enforcement account. Chair (Finance Committee) opened the agenda item and called for the motion; the committee approved the referral 5–0.
"This $55,000 constitutes forfeiture from Cullin Police Court, from a case from almost 2 years ago now," said Deputy Chief Bridal, who asked that the funds be reappropriated into the law-enforcement and drug-enforcement account. The committee’s vote was recorded as "motion by Barker, second by Chute," and passed 5–0. The item will appear on the full council agenda for final appropriation.
