Selectboard discusses State Police camera access and River Street parking solutions

At the May 18 meeting the Selectboard addressed two related public-safety and parking items. John Libbey and other participants raised concerns about State Police access to Town cameras; Town Administrator Marissa Tessier said some troopers currently have access while noting the specific trooper referenced by a resident may not yet have been granted access.
Separately the board discussed River Street parking challenges and reported TA Marissa is working with the Vermont League of Cities and Towns (VLCT) to identify alternative solutions, including creating a holding area for towed vehicles. The town reported that tow companies contacted are willing to tow vehicles but are not willing to provide storage, so the board is awaiting further guidance from VLCT before deciding next steps.
The board did not take formal action at the meeting but recorded these operational issues and directed TA Marissa to continue working with VLCT and town staff on camera-access procedures and parking/towing logistics.
