Laura Hancock, representing the Planning Commission, presented the commission’s nominee for Zoning Administrator, Karen Cangelosi, and advised the Selectboard of forthcoming bylaw changes driven by the HOME Act (Housing Opportunities Made for Everyone), enacted June 2023.
Selectman Alan Fletcher moved to continue Karen Cangelosi as acting Zoning Administrator through June and to appoint her to a three-year term starting July 1. Selectwoman Kristin Murphy seconded; the motion passed unanimously. The Planning Commission additionally told the board it will submit specific proposed bylaw language in a future meeting as the HOME Act-related edits are finalized.
Board members were given advance notice that the changes to zoning bylaws required by the HOME Act and other bylaw reviews would be coming before the Selectboard for review and adoption at a later date.
