One council member recommended committing $50,000 to secure the full 25-point leverage award; another suggested the CRA budget as a possible source, while staff noted the city could initially commit general funds and transfer them to the CRA if the application is awarded.
Officials said they would confirm budget availability and bring the funding authorization to the council for resolution at the second public hearing next week; a short CRA meeting may also be required to approve the use of CRA funds if that source is selected.
