Pearson readies July 4 celebration and schedules meetings; staff to follow up on trash, trees and ditches

The mayor also announced regular council dates (July 1 and July 15) and a planning commission meeting on June 24. Council members raised several operational items for staff follow-up: sending letters to residents who place trash or large items at the road edge, identifying an address for a private property with a limb hanging over a town street so the owner can be notified, arranging weed-eating and ditch work ahead of hurricane season, and confirming mosquito-control spraying for park areas before the July 4 event. Staff also reported an auction company will photograph and inventory municipal surplus next week in preparation for a sale.
Council thanked public-works staff for recent culvert repairs and asked staff to pursue seed and minor turf work on recently tilled ground near field parking to ensure grass cover before the holiday event.
