Board hears WPCA repair update and $280,000 funding gap for Bradley Park Road repairs

The Chair of the Board of Selectmen reported that repairs to the WPCA system have been completed, including work on Meter Pit 5 and replacement of a flume. "The flume has been replaced, and the $70,000 for that repair has been reimbursed from the WPCA back to the capital fund," the Chair said.
She told the board that slip-lining the Bradley Park Road sewer—intended to prevent future leaks—came in at an estimated $280,000, versus roughly $70,000 remaining in the capital request. The Chair said the town is weighing alternatives, including bonding multiple WPCA projects together, and that she has requested a meeting regarding the Clean Water Act/fund to determine whether reimbursement is possible.
The Chair also described other infrastructure concerns: about 150 feet of 'bellied' pipe that may need replacement and an ageing Bradley Park pump station for which parts are increasingly difficult to find. She said DPW has been "stockpiling what we can get our hands on" and that a WPCA meeting will be scheduled in coming months to consider financing and next steps.
The board did not take a formal funding vote at this meeting; the Chair said staff will return with options, cost estimates, and a plan for whether projects should be bonded together or pursued through grant/reimbursement programs.
