Town to publish bond-question template and supporting links ahead of December vote

Town staff presented a draft template for describing proposed bond and capital projects and said the information will be consolidated in one public website so residents can find ballot questions, background, cost estimates and supporting studies in one place.
Town manager said, "Betsy has done a nice job putting together a sample," and that the website will include both the short ballot question and supporting legal/description materials. The board agreed the project descriptions should be concise and link to full studies (for example, the parks master-plan GZA study) so voters have both a quick summary and access to detail.
The board is working to finalize language for a Dec. 8 referendum (town meeting on Dec. 1); members asked to review bond-question wording carefully at the Aug. 3 meeting, particularly the library question where private fundraising and maximum borrowing amounts must be clear.
