Manhattan officials outline Anderson Avenue overhaul through 2027

Ken Hayes, project coordinator for the City of Manhattan, and Whitney Henley, project manager for the Anderson Avenue project, opened the briefing with an overview of the work and schedule. Hayes said the corridor runs from Connecticut Avenue to Harrison Avenue and will be completed in three primary phases slated to continue through the end of 2027.
"The reason for this is that the water line has not been replaced in decades," said Whitney Henley, the project manager, describing the rationale for making the water-main replacement the project's central priority. The team said the project also includes storm-drainage upgrades along Wildcat Creek and sidewalk widening to improve ADA accessibility and the pedestrian experience.
