Resident urges speed enforcement, tree trimming and electrical safety at town park

Tim Daughtry, who identified himself as living at 1410 Keller Road, used the public-comment period to raise multiple safety concerns in the Lake Clarke Shores community. "They need to be trimmed or got rid of," Daughtry said of trees blocking the sight lines at Pine Tree and Forest Hill, and he asked for increased speed enforcement on Forest Hill, noting he no longer sees officers conducting traffic enforcement there.
Daughtry also raised an electrical-safety concern at a town park and said he had checked eight devices there the previous night and found only two had ground-fault interrupter protection. "For safety, it's a public park. It needs to be done," he said. Councilors acknowledged the park-safety issue and the police representative said resident complaints are tracked and assigned for special patrols; staff later noted that crews were working on the GFI issue. Daughtry also asked the council to avoid scheduling the town barbecue to conflict with a neighboring county street festival; councilors thanked him and said they would consider scheduling in planning meetings.
The council did not take formal action during public comment but asked staff to follow up on traffic enforcement, park outlets, and sight-line trimming.
