Council receives June budget update; general fund revenues reported up year-to-date

City staff told the council the fiscal-year 2027 budget process has begun and delivered June numbers showing general-fund year-to-date revenues of about $5,900,000 with year-to-date expenses of about $5,400,000 against a budget figure cited as 6.3 million. The presenter said revenues were up and expenses were down for the general fund compared with budget.
The staff member also noted that other funds showed year-to-date revenues of $5,000,000 compared with an $8,000,000 budget and attributed lower figures primarily to the timing of a civil project. Staff said department-head reports will continue and formal work sessions with the mayor and council are planned in August as the FY27 process proceeds.
