Library board reports parking expansion, yearbook digitization and Summer Quest kickoff

Maureen Wenik, President of the Upper Moreland Free Public Library Board of Trustees, delivered the Library Board’s monthly report at the June 15 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting. Wenik thanked Township staff and the Commissioners for expanding the Library’s parking area and said the library completed digitizing the Upper Moreland High School yearbooks.
Wenik also announced that Summer Quest kicks off on June 18, describing it as a program emphasizing lifelong learning for all ages with free activities and prize opportunities provided by the Friends of Upper Moreland Free Public Library. She referenced data from the National Center for Education Statistics noting a decline in free time for elementary and middle school students since 2012; Wenik used that context to encourage family reading time.
