Walworth County staff presented the results of an RFP and recommended the county retain its incumbent carrier, Madison National Life, for group life, long‑term disability (LTD) and short‑term disability (STD) coverage.
“There is a decrease in premiums by doing so with an overall savings of $43,944,” the presenter said, and listed estimated monthly costs: group life $3,148.77, LTD $20,447.37 and STD $15,965.70. The presenter also reminded the board that STD is fully funded by the county.
Supervisor Tyler Schneider moved to recommend Madison National Life to the finance committee; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff said the finance committee will have final authority to approve the contract award.
The recommendation will move to the finance committee for final consideration.
