Magistrate trims $3,750 lien to $3,250 for vacant lot at 339 Cornell Drive

At the June 25 hearing the owner’s representative for Commons at College Park LLC argued the site at 339 Cornell Drive has been a vacant lot since 2015 and that the owner has paid registration fees and undertaken expense to keep the lot monitored. Code officer Leticia Dell told the magistrate the violations had been complied but noted this was flagged as a repeat violation and that the lien totaled $3,750.
The property representative described costs including $30,000 in registration fees over several years and a temporary fence previously erected and removed; he also said city contractors had used the site at times. In response, Special Magistrate Doug McGibbon reduced the assessed lien by $500 — removing a $250 application fee and a $250 hearing attendance fee — and set the reduced amount to be paid by 08/24/2026. "I just knocked off 500," McGibbon said on the record. The magistrate made clear that if the reduced amount is not paid by the deadline the full $3,750 could be reinstated per the city's procedures.
