El Monte approves multiple assessments for placement on the 2026-27 tax roll; several hearings continued

On June 17 the El Monte City Council held a series of public hearings and approved resolutions to place several assessments on the Los Angeles County Auditor-Controller’s FY 2026-27 property tax roll. The actions approved the Klingerman/Bonwood waste disposal service assessment (Resolution No. 10705), the Lewis Homes sewer maintenance cost recovery assessment (Resolution No. 10706), and placement of certain residential waste disposal delinquency charges owed to Valley Vista Services (Resolution No. 10707).
Each hearing included a staff presentation and limited public comment (the minutes note public commenters Armando Herman and Ancona Herman). After public comment, council voted 7-0 to adopt the written reports and submit the assessment amounts to the County Auditor-Controller for placement on the property tax roll. The packet indicates the procedural requirement and directs staff to transmit the approved lists to county offices for inclusion on tax bills.
Council also opened other facilities-district and delinquency hearings (Community Facilities District No. 2014-1 and Mountain View CFD No. 2013-1 and a commercial/multifamily delinquency hearing) and continued those items to the July 8, 2026 meeting to allow additional review.
