John Glover used his visitor time to press the Caddo Parish School Board for an update on efforts to improve struggling schools, saying 25% of Louisiana schools eligible for the recovery school district are in Caddo Parish and asking what the board had accomplished since a May 3, 2024 special session.
"I've read the contract... I would like to know exactly how this is going to impact or affect your hire, the superintendent," Glover said, raising concerns about accountability, school closures, and consolidation. He referenced remarks by a state official (Dr. Kate Bromley) and asked for measurable progress since that earlier session.
The board thanked Glover for his comments and continued with the agenda; his remarks were part of the meeting's visitor section and did not prompt immediate action or a direct staff response besides a general offer to refer concerns to staff when appropriate.
