The Select Board opened sealed bids for several materials and construction projects and made awards during the May 5 meeting. For sidewalks, the board voted to award the work to Pike Industries for $79,500. Street paving for Bunker Hill, Depot, Railroad and Stone Streets was awarded to Blaktop at $255,394.80. For materials, the board accepted Beattie Enterprises' bid for 6" angular stone at $13.05 per ton and accepted a gravel bid from AB Excavating at $9.50 per ton (picked up). Selectman Shane Beattie recused himself from the stone and gravel bid decisions.
All motions to accept bids were made by Selectman Kathy-Jean Lavoie, seconded by Selectman Leon Rideout, and recorded as 'all in favor; motion carried.' The board also reviewed a low sealed bid for a 2017 Ford Expedition cruiser (one bid, $110) and voted to table that item until the next meeting. The board reminded bidders that gravel will be tested to confirm it meets specifications.
