Kane County introduces new farmland preservation administrator; extension coordinator departing

Kane County staff introduced a new farmland preservation administrator at the July 23 meeting.
County staff said Dylan Canner joined the planning team about seven weeks earlier with a master's in bio-agricultural engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an undergraduate degree in agricultural economics. Canner said he lives in St. Charles and invited committee members to contact him directly.
Separately, Kat announced that Alexis Barnes, the ag coordinator at extension, is leaving to work and farm in Southern Illinois; extension will be recruiting for the role. Committee members expressed regret at losing Barnes and asked staff to circulate the job posting when available.
