York County Roads staff report iPad training, prepare to go paperless on Aug. 3

York County Roads staff told commissioners that training on new iPads finished last week and crews will begin using the devices on the road starting Aug. 3; staff also reported a new pickup with a snowplow and sander arrived.
Ashley Rasmussen of the York County Roads Department told the board that county roads staff completed iPad training and will begin using the devices on the road starting Aug. 3 as the department starts a paperless workflow. "Last week, we just got done training all of our employees on our iPads...Training went well," Rasmussen said.
Greg Hiding, also with York County Roads, reported that a pickup with a snowplow and sander was received and will be put to work once outfitted with required labels and equipment. Commissioners thanked staff and noted small operational quirks are expected as the new process is implemented.
No formal action was taken; the roads update was provided under the officials forum for informational purposes.
