Councilman Carl provided an update on a village strategic planning effort led by StructurePoint, saying the consultant has asked for nine focus groups that will include 5–10 participants each drawn from stakeholders such as realtors, developers, village staff, longtime and newer residents, nonprofits, parks and rec, and business owners. "We're gonna be forming these committees within the next 30 days," Carl said, and the village will recruit "up to a 100 people" to participate and vet candidates for the groups.
Carl said each focus group will have 45–60 minutes during a two-day session to review survey results and offer feedback tied to their area of expertise. He thanked local volunteers (Jill Sorensen, Jeff Patterson, Sheldon Stanley and Ray Martin) for assisting with recruitment. The council did not take any formal action during the report; Carl characterized the effort as a large community undertaking that should yield productive input for the village's plan.
