CAPC seeks staff partners, grant support, and student interns to advance climate plan

Chair Alex Hasha updated the committee on grant-seeking and outreach plans. The committee plans to apply for an EEA Planning Assistance grant; the application period is expected to open in late January with a deadline in early March. Hasha said the committee does not yet have a committed staff partner to help complete the application and that letters of support from department heads will likely be required.
Anna Morgan-Barsamian reported outreach to Boston University School of Public Health about a possible student or graduate-student project; she has submitted a simplified scope and will follow up with a professor after winter break. Committee members agreed that initial interviews with town officials should precede consultant engagement so staff buy-in and feasibility can be assessed.
Chair Hasha plans a meeting with the Planning Department on Jan. 22 to re-engage staff and may follow up with Select Board members. The next CAPC meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19, 2026, when members hope to review progress on staffing commitments and grant applications.
