Christian Pobenmore, speaking for public health, told the board the department is conducting additional immunization clinics for back-to-school season and that environmental health and grant activities are progressing. He said the department had signed most grants for the new fiscal year though some funding levels are reduced.
Pobenmore also described a donation: "So that is the 1st donation," he said, referring to a $2,000 gift from Linda Long’s estate presented by Ringo Covert to support the Iowa 2 by 4 steering committee’s mini home project for a homeless veteran. The board acknowledged the donation and expressed appreciation for Linda Long’s longtime work for veterans.
Public health staff said they will continue to provide first aid at the county fair and participate in National Night Out; no additional funding requests or action items were recorded in the meeting minutes.
