Committee recommends two parcels (about 8 acres) be added to excess‑lands and offered for $20,000

The Division Authority Land Management Committee on July 22 recommended that two parcels identified as OIN 9053N and OIN 9992Y be entered into the committee’s excess‑lands program and marketed for sale. Justin told the committee the parcels were acquired for right‑of‑way and diversion‑channel work but are no longer required for those purposes.

Justin said the parcels consist of roughly 4.3 acres for OIN 9053N and about 3.7 acres for OIN 9992Y, for a combined total of a little more than 8 acres, and that staff proposed a combined asking price of "$20,000 for the total of these 8 acres." The chair moved to recommend approval to the Diversion Authority, there was a second, and the committee approved the recommendation by roll call.

Why it matters: proceeds from excess‑land sales are a revenue source for the authority and removing parcels from project inventories can simplify future operations. Justin said the parcels include approximately four acres of tillable land and that staff evaluated them under the authority’s excess‑land policy. The committee did not direct any further conditions beyond recommending approval to the Diversion Authority.
