City staff reports park upgrades and new construction progress in project-tracking update

Staff provided a project-tracking update highlighting recent and ongoing work across the city. Rogers Park (75th and Rogers) received CVG-funded improvements including a turf play area, improved accessibility and a bioswale for stormwater collection, staff said. Suniloft phase 2 has started excavation on the eastern lot by the Farmers Market, and the southern lot off Mitchell Street has begun ground work. Work has also begun on the La Vinca building at 1733 West National; staff said the city is awaiting news of the building’s new operator or tenant.
“These enhancements are more ADA-friendly,” a staff member said of the park upgrades. Staff said construction is moving steadily on multiple projects and the commission welcomed the brief update.
