CDA hears update on former motor-casting site contamination; EPA brownfield funding not awarded

The presenter said additional confirmatory testing is planned after one anomalous high sample that may have been cross-contaminated. "Unfortunately, we did not receive the EPA funding on our grant application," the staff member said, and staff outlined plans to apply for smaller grants, reuse loans and state brownfield programs while pursuing DNR guidance. The board asked questions about testing of adjacent CDA-owned parking lots, potential DOT involvement and timing for DNR feedback; staff said they expect a clearer remediation path after the DNR response.
