The Board of Land Commissioners granted preliminary approval to the Cramer Creek land exchange at its July 20 meeting following public testimony from conservation groups and local citizens. Public commenters included Mark Aagenes of the Montana Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, Ryan Chapin of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, Ben Lamb of the Montana Conservation Society, Phil Ramsey of MPG Ranch, and several public citizens who raised conservation and local-use concerns. Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen moved preliminary approval and Superintendent Susie Hedalen seconded; the motion carried unanimously, 5-0.
