County manager updates: new GIS web map, Carolina Thread Master Plan update, Brown Creek recognition and EMS position on May 19 agenda

Assistant Manager and Planning Director Nick Addison, joined by Valerie Scull, presented the county's new GIS web map to replace the previous web mapper and described features intended to help staff and the public access property and planning data.
Addison also updated the board on the Carolina Thread Master Plan efforts. He announced that the Brown Creek Soil and Water Conservation District would be inducted into the Conservation Technology Information Center Hall of Fame on June 4, 2026, in Raleigh. Manager Leonard Sossamon reminded the board that the Assistant EMS Director position information was distributed and that the item will be discussed at the May 19 meeting.
