First Selectman Dana Barrow Jr. thanked the Volunteer Fire Department for its work, reporting that "the Fire Department responded to 12 Fires and 21 EMS Calls last month." He said work funded through a STEAP grant at the Public Safety Complex—bay door replacement, furnace and AC work, underground tank removal, window and door replacement, and installation of an ADA front-door opener—has begun.
Selectmen reminded residents that the Annual Memorial Day remembrance will be held at the Town Green on Sunday, May 24 at noon, followed by a wreath-laying at the new cemetery at about 12:20 with guest speakers and bus transportation available. The Board also noted community support for cemetery landscaping and donations of plants and materials by local businesses.
