The Town of Sharon Board of Civil Authority elected Chelsea Gray as chair on April 8, 2026 and called the meeting to order at 5:35 PM.
Suzanne Jones nominated Chelsea Gray for chair; Kevin Gish seconded the nomination, which was approved unanimously. After electing the chair, the board discussed relocating the August 11 primary and the November 3 general election because Sharon Elementary School will be under summer construction and the gymnasium will be unavailable in August and may not be available in November.
Following discussion, the board voted unanimously to move both the Aug. 11 primary and the Nov. 3 general election to the foyer of the Sharon Congregational Church. Town Clerk Cathy Sartor said she had discussed the church foyer’s use with Ken Wright and noted the foyer’s accessibility. Helen Barrett noted that using the Town Offices would disrupt Town Office personnel.
Chelsea Gray moved to adjourn at 5:44 PM; Kevin Gish seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes were submitted by Town Clerk Cathy Sartor and approved April 9, 2026.
