Sharon board votes to move Aug. 11 primary to Congregational Church foyer

Scott Henkels made the motion to relocate the Aug. 11 primary to the church foyer; Kevin Gish seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Chelsea Gray had opened the discussion, noting the gymnasium at Sharon Elementary will not be available during summer construction and may remain unavailable in November.
Board members considered two alternate locations: the Town Offices, which have been used for prior local elections, and the Sharon Congregational Church foyer. Helen Barrett cautioned that hosting elections in the Town Offices disrupts Town Office personnel. Town Clerk Cathy Sartor said the church foyer is easily accessible and that she had discussed use of the space with Ken Wright.
The board did not record a roll-call vote in the meeting transcript; the motion was recorded as passing unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 5:44 PM.
