During the public-comment period a resident (speaker 6) described a long-running probate matter for his father in Jackson County and asked the commission for assistance in transferring records to Clay County and possibly donating family artifacts to a museum. He said family items were discovered under an old porch and that he lacked the knowledge to complete the transfer himself.
The chair asked the resident to provide any materials to the county administrator and to record the administrator's contact information so staff could follow up. "If you could give them to the administrator there, mister Hodges, he can make sure that those materials are distributed," the chair said. The administrator and staff indicated they had prior contact information and would coordinate follow-up. The administrator will receive the materials and report back to the commission about next steps.
