Wichita County Economic Development reports Main Street rehabs and new businesses; interim director filling role

Aimee Burch of Wichita County Economic and Development briefed Leoti council on Main Street redevelopment efforts, saying she is serving as interim director through the end of the year and that multiple applicants have applied for the permanent director position. Burch described county-led purchases and rehabs of Main Street buildings and said new businesses have opened in those properties, including a new restaurant; council members praised the increased activity and noted that Main Street appears busier.
The report was delivered alongside a written Wichita County Park and Recreation update submitted by Rec. Director Judith Lemus. Burch left the meeting at approximately 6:52 p.m., according to the minutes.
