City Clerk Jeannine Hassell reported an update about the south Highway 25 mill-and-overlay project at the Oct. 20 meeting. Hassell said she contacted Representative Jim Minnix and Dr. Clifford to raise issues with the project; KDOTs Joe Finley from the Garden City office called and told Hassell KDOT would do the curb-to-curb milling and overlay but the city would be responsible for painting the parking stripes because of internal KDOT staffing turnover and record-keeping issues.
Hassell said she will follow up with KDOT and noted she will be out of the office Oct. 27-29 to attend the fall CCMFOA conference in Wichita. The minutes record no formal council action other than taking the report.
