Trustees hear road progress, easement work and staffing plans

During the roads update, a staff member said Choctaw Hills shoulder repairs are finished and crews added rock at the end of Chinook to reduce pothole intensity while a concrete box-bridge design is completed. "For starters, with Choctaw Hills, all of the shoulder has been completed," the staff member said.
On Camp Branch Road the staff member reported the construction started Dec. 8 and "we are currently approximately 2 to 3 more weeks out, left of, dirt work before paving can begin." The update also covered a pending easement for a trail (two easement holders identified: Choctaw Mountain LLC and Weyerhaeuser) and staff said communications with Weyerhaeuser and its attorney were underway to finalize documents. Trustees were also briefed on plans to adopt short-term-rental best practices learned from Breckenridge to improve lodging-tax collections and compliance.
The board asked staff to circulate design and easement documents when available and confirmed that interviews are being scheduled for a road superintendent, building-code inspector/code-enforcement officer, and an administrative assistant position.
