Stacy Montgomery, representing Ecowaste Solutions, appeared before the Edgerton City Council on March 12 to respond to resident complaints following the company's transition into local service. Montgomery offered up to $1,000 for an elementary school carnival and the donation of a trash truck experience for students as community outreach. City Administrator Beth Linn and council members said the City has kept receiving calls about missed pickups and urged Ecowaste to improve communication with residents during the transition.
Ms. Montgomery explained that a software migration caused missing schedule data and that a Saturday placeholder date was communicated in error by an inadequately trained customer-service agent. She assured the council that Ecowaste "will honor that limitation" on collection hours and that "yard waste pickup day is still on Wednesday and that is not changing." Councilmember Lewis suggested a social-media push to clarify no long-term schedule changes are planned; Ms. Montgomery said she agreed and noted this was her seventh day with the company.
