After reviewing quotes and options for a secondary Internet connection (including Starlink and local providers), the board debated whether to buy a backup connection now or wait until planned road work when outages might be more likely. Several members noted typical outage patterns are intermittent and that short-term, month-to-month options may be available.
The board voted to give Manager Dusty authority to purchase and install additional backup internet services as he sees fit. "I'll make a motion to give Dustin the approval to orders additional internet if and when he sees fit," one board member said; the motion passed on roll call 3-0. The board asked staff to monitor vendor availability and pricing and to use short-term contracts as appropriate.
