Hochatown staff update major road projects; town eyes ODOT drilling grant

Staff member (S4) provided trustees with a series of infrastructure updates, including the status of Camp Ranch, La Plata Trail and Pinion Road and the start of Old Hoagetown Road construction. "Old Hoagetown Road began on April 27," S4 said, and outlined the construction method: milling the existing surface, compacting it as a base and laying 5 inches of asphalt on top, drawing new ditch lines and installing horns at road returns and driveways.
S4 also briefed the board on a grant opportunity: the Municipal Road Drilling Activity Fund administered by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. "This grant... could be awarded up to $500,000," S4 said, and noted the application requires that the selected road currently have an asphalt or concrete surface and that the town provide a minimum 25% match. S4 said the application window closes Sept. 30 and cautioned that total town expenditures could exceed the 25% match even if awarded. No final grant award was recorded in the meeting.
