Board withdraws RIG grant application for resubmission when funds reopen
Summary
Board voted to withdraw RIG grant application 30358 (equipment) because the funding round shows no available funds now; the district will resubmit for trucking/excavator when the program reopens in July and is in line for reimbursement grants.

The board reviewed the timing of a RIG (reimbursement) grant application for equipment tied to starting projects. Staff and a grant contact told the board that current funding is exhausted until the program restarts in July. Because the district's scheduled water tower construction will start before possible reimbursement approval, a motion was made to withdraw application 30358 and resubmit when the fund reopens.
One board member summarized the situation: “We're not gonna get the money anyway, so I'll go and make a motion that we withdraw the rig grant, for that project.” The motion to withdraw and resubmit was seconded and passed on roll call.
Staff characterized the grant as a reimbursement grant (the district would spend and then seek reimbursement) and noted that resubmitting in July would place the district in line for future rounds. The board directed staff to withdraw the current application and resubmit for trucking/excavator in the new funding period.
