Nick Addison, Assistant County Manager and Planning Director, briefed the board on grant applications submitted by Grant Administrator Cannon to acquire public‑works equipment such as a salt/sand spreader, chainsaws, protective gear and training, and a salt/sand storage shed. The board discussed grant timeframes and whether county grant management capacity can meet reporting requirements.
County staff also raised operational requests including a four‑wheeler for the water filtration plant and touch‑up painting on county welcome signs; Manager Leonard Sossamon suggested using the ACTS sign on Highway 52 South to advertise government business awareness.
