City Superintendent Blaine Medina reported on several public-works items at the Feb. 2 meeting. Medina said he will meet with an Athco LLC playground representative to inspect the city park and discuss plans and costs.
Medina also reported the city had not received any bids for the BCBS crosswalk project; he reached out to Morgan Brothers, who will be in town this week and will submit a bid. Council discussed drainage at the four-way and directed the city crew to jet drains to clear debris. Medina described a recent repair at one lift station in which crews found a ‘‘large amount of flushable wipes’’ trapped on a check valve; the city issued information to the public about disposable wipes clogging pipes.
Medina added that snowflakes have been taken down and the street sweeper is again operating on city streets.
