Leoti council approves payroll warrants, adopts outdoor-burning ordinance and OKs AMI annual fee

The Leoti City Governing Body on Feb. 2 unanimously approved its agenda and consent items, including payroll warrants of $35,888.85 and accounts payable warrants of $38,494.86.
During the meeting Mayor Chris Kreutzer and council recorded their approval of Ordinance 2026-02, an amendment to Ordinance 2024-01 that establishes restrictions on outdoor burning of trash, yard waste, leaves and other combustible materials, provides specified exceptions and attaches penalties for violations. Councilor Aron White moved for adoption and Councilor Kelma Burch seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Council also approved a Core & Main invoice for $7,927.92 covering the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) yearly fee after a motion by Aron White and a second from Jim (J.) Kreutzer. No opposition to the payment was recorded. The meeting minutes note motions ‘‘carried unanimously’’ for the agenda, consent items, the ordinance and the invoice.
The council adjourned at 7:14 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 17, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
